On Thursday, March 20th, Shannon Watts will visit Vanderbilt to share her story of founding Moms Demand Action, the nation's largest grassroots organization against gun violence. Shannon Watts, author of “Fight Like a Mother” and named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, will discuss her work as a grassroots and community organizer, digital media as a tool for advocacy and community building, and how her experiences as a woman and a mother have motivated her passions for pursuing social change. This conversation, hosted by the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center and Dialogue Vanderbilt, will be followed by a Q&A with Shannon Watts.
